Outdoor Education
Keiki Trails Adventures is an educational outdoor program for children 1 to 8 years old based in the tri-cities. We explore different parks, experiencing all seasons and weather outside learning about the beautiful land we live on. Keiki Trails Adventures is overall play based. We follow an emergent curriculum where learning takes place following children’s interests. The educators lead the children through trails and parks, offering the opportunity to inquire, create, and explore the enriching environment. We may engage in short or long-term projects based on the children’s inquiry, bringing in books, stories, or other materials to enhance our learning.
This program is not under the Keiki Trails Childcare license and is not licensed child care.
Summer Season 2023
July 7 - August 25
We will be visiting Rocky Point Park and Mundy Park

Why Learn Outside?
Exploring the outdoors in a peer group environment encourages the development of self-regulation, offers the children the opportunity to work together, learn and practice social and problem solving skills, learn to understand each other’s emotions, and learn safety and best practices for engaging with the natural environment. Outdoor play has proven to boost children’s immune systems, promotes learning and problem-solving and is the perfect place for risky play which encourages healthy physical and emotional development in our children (Dodds, 2017; Little, 2020).
Keiki Trails Adventures acknowledges that we play in the home of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh speaking peoples.
